For those of us who blog it sometimes seems as though there are few boundaries about what goes out on the web.
But still.
There is much that is private in our lives. And protecting that becomes harder and harder. Not because of what we write. But because of what we read. Or because of data we enter in various sites.
Have you run across sites, like say for the White Pages or for a newspaper, that every once in a while will make you enter personal or demographic data...birth date, gender, income range, whatever...before letting you go on. I HATE THAT.
Turns out that data poses a security risk for you. And folks are scrambling to figure out how to fix that. You can read about it here in this New York Times article.
