"Doomed Dome"

Oh, yeah, we had a lot of snow. So much, it's deeper than my dogs. So much my mail box is almost buried. So much, yes, the home of the Minnesota Viking collapsed about as completely as their season has. If you're like me and you can't get enough of the video, click here.

  1. I saw that yesterday, they showed it prior to the Bears vs Patriots which was an incredible nightmare for Bears fans everywhere! I'm wondering, because I don't remember them saying, were those PEOPLE standing on the field as it started to leak and collapse? I would have been out of there at the first sign of a leak...Yikes! How much is it going to cost to replace that with something that CAN take the weight of the snow (I can't believe they didn't use something that could withstand the weight in MN!)?? My parents have this little machine that sits on their roof and heats the shingles so that the snow doesn't build up and collapse their roof (because they have a flat roof). Might need to look into that, or, play outside like the Bears. Hahaha, they were playing in "Feels like 3" yesterday, and by the way, those fans are INSANE! Where will the Vikings play their home games for now?

  2. "Commission chairman Roy Terwilliger says it's the fourth roof collapse since the stadium opened nearly 30 years ago, all caused by heavy snow." Yet they learned NOTHING from the first 3 collapses? Give me a break...fool me once, twice, you'd think they'd learn by the 4th time that it wasn't going to hold up to the MN snow! That stinks! I guess they'll be playing outside for a while...
