"Where Music and Virtual World Meet"

Eric Whitacre is a world renowned choral composer. And my girl's favorite. He recently held world wide video auditions for membership in a choir to premier a stunning piece he composed. Watch here to see how a producer compiled all the video auditions into a virtual choir with Eric conducting.

It's way cool.

I love being able to see the choir members as individuals, a rare opportunity in a large ensemble, and peeking into their lives just by seeing the tiny bit of background behind them in their audition video.

  1. Trish, there is a young man from Blaine MN who was chosen as a member in this piece.

Added to that he was one of the 400 chosen as part of the choir to perform in Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings at Carnegie Hall on June 15th.

His name is Richard Shallbetter, he is amazingly talented. He was an '09 graduate of Spring Lake Park High School, and is a freshman at the University of St. Thomas. Besides being an amazing vocalist, he also plays piano. beautifully. (Oh, and he has a twin brother, Kyle, who is terribly talented also, but has chosen a different path at Hamline).

It would be an awesome story for you to do on FOX9...following his journey to NYC, to his debut at Carnegie Hall. And I bet you could bring your daughter along...lol...

    Here's his contact information: (763) 244-7948

Here's the info about the concert in June:
